Each year, up to 12 people (age 18-35) are selected to participate in LUNA's Community Event Coordination (CEC) training program.
Trainees receive 10 months of hands-on event experience as well as in-class training sessions with industry professionals:
- Event Management and Marketing
- Risk Management
- Leadership
- Sponsorship & Fundraising
- Media Communications
- Whistler Spirit - after which you're eligible for a discounted Whistler Blackcomb ski pass.
- Green Events & Whistler 2020
Trainees assist with LUNA's event operations and promotion, gradually taking on more responsibility until capable of coordinating an event. Upon successful completion of the program, a Community Event Coordination certificate is awarded, endorsed by the RMOW and RCMP.
Trainees also receive bonus perks, including a LUNA hoodie, dinner snacks from Nesters Market, media appearances, and that tingly feeling you get from helping to make your community a better place.
What does it take to be part of the LUNA Crew? ENERGY, CREATIVITY, RELIABILITY, COMMITMENT and a genuine interest in making our community a better place to live and visit. The CEC training program is HARD WORK however many of our graduates have participated while working full-time jobs.
Over the years, the CEC has attracted trainees from various parts of Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Korea, Africa, South America, and Sweden. You must have a good understanding of English (spoken and written) and the confidence to ask questions when you don't understand.

Applicants must be able to work a minimum of one 5 to 8-hour shift per week (mostly late evenings), and must commit for the duration of the program.
