Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!
Get a team of 8 together, give it a name, and prepare your uniforms... LUNA's DODGEBALL GRAND FINALE is Monday, March 22. Winning team receives a $300 cash prize! Prizes will also be awarded for best team uniform and best dodgeball style.
Players must be 18+. Entry fee is $64/team. Subtract $2 for each member with current LUNA member card (must show card on March 22).
How to enter:
- Download and fill out this form.
- Pay your team entry fee in one of two ways:
- Print, fill out and bring your completed form to Whistler Municipal Hall's Finance desk at 4325 Blackcomb Way and pay the fee, or
- Pay online by PayPal (below) and send receipt and completed entry form to kpalpross@whistler.ca with "Dodgeball Team" in the subject line.
PAYMENT AND COMPLETED ENTRY FORM MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:30PM ON FRIDAY, MARCH 19.
LUNA member cards are available for 18-35s at Whistler's Foto Source.
Where to go:
Myrtle Philip Community Centre gym on Lorimer Road, 8:15PM sharp to sign in.
(walk from the Village or take the Tapleys bus). Bring your friends to cheer you on - spectators enter for free.
How to play:
Two teams stand at opposite ends of the court. When the whistle blows, team members run to the middle line to grab the balls and hit the opposing team members. If you're hit by a ball, you're out and must stand on the sidelines. If you catch a ball in the air, the first person in line on your team's sidelines returns to the game. The team with the last person standing wins the game.
You will be instantly disqualified if you hit another player above the chest or step across the center line.

Established in 1934 and eliminating the dodgeball competition ever since, they hold the most World Dodgeball Champion titles with a total of 58; nine of them coming in the 1980s when Sports Illustrated named them "the most dominating franchise to ever arrive in sports today."
